Wow. The mezcal and the elderflower almost neutralises each other which paves way for the Punt E Mes to take a lot more place than I initially thought. Don't get me wrong, on the front of the palate you do get smoke and elderflower at the same time, competing for attention. On the mid to end palate the vermouth takes a lot more place, though, with the liqueur and wine almost forming a candy-ish note on the end. Really lovely.

This is a good drink!
I also tried this template and it was not either:

30 ml Del Maguey Vida Clásico mezcal
30 ml Elderflower liqueur
15 ml Antico Vermouth
15 ml Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Aahh, this is delightful! I used a lighter less smokey joven mezcal and all the ingredients balanced gracefully. Like biting into a fresh floral fruity pear whilst simultaniously sipping on a Perfectly Straight Blood and Sand. Well not exactly but there is some sort of similarity in the interplay between the fruity/floral, smokey; and earthy vermouth. Plus the sour. Definitely going in my favorites!

Just made this drink when I found a recipe randomly on reddit and matches this one... First ever cocktail I've made that looks ugly as sin, but oh my so delicious. Love it

Zero St. Germain flavor. Overwhelmed by the Mezcal and Punt e Mes. So you need to be ready for a smoky, herbal cocktail!
