Ingredients:
1 12 oz Green melon liqueur
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lime wedge.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into glass filled with crushed ice.
  5. Garnish with lime wedge.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created for the 1987 US launch of Midori green melon liqueur.

Reporting on the launch of Midori, on the 24 September 1978 The Indianapolis Star newspaper reported, "Midori will debut in the form of a Melancholy Baby, which is made by pouring Midori on crushed ice and served with a splash of lime juice. The cocktail failed to take off, but Midori liqueur proved a hit through the rest of the 1980s and into the 1990s.
