How to make
Glassware
Serve in an Old-fashioned glass
Method:
1. Roast the Rice:
Roast 50g of rice in a pan until golden brown. Reserve 15g of roasted rice for garnish.
2. Prepare the Cocktail:
In a shaker, combine 60ml of Hayman's London Dry Gin, 2 bar spoon of roasted rice, 2gm of coriander, 15ml of agave syrup and 15ml of fresh lime juice.
3. Shake it Up:
First shake all the Ingredients without ice (dry shake)and then fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds.
Prepare the Glass:
Place block ice in an old-fashioned glass to chill the cocktail without excessive dilution.
4. Strain and Garnish:
Fine strain the cocktail into the prepared glass to remove any ice shards or herbs.
Garnish the cocktail with the reserved roasted rice, placing it in a small bowl alongside the drink

Taste of Time is a cocktail that embodies the craftsmanship of the Hayman distillery and my family's legacy – Rice.
I'm Harshit Agarwal, a bartender and a 4th generation rice cultivator from India.
While making a cocktail for this competition, I couldn't help myself but notice the similarities between my journey and the journey of this spirit. The similarity of time.
I wanted to honor my roots while showcasing the craftsmanship of the Hayman distillery. The toasted rice, harvested from my family's fields, speaks of generations of hard work and dedication, while the Hayman gin, crafted with care and expertise, represents the legacy of fourth & five generations of distillers.
Using Hayman's Gin, roasted rice, fresh coriander, lime juice and agave syrup; I have tried to create a cocktail that is not just a drink but a celebration of heritage and tradition.
It's a reminder that no matter where life takes us, our roots will always anchor us, and our stories will continue to be passed down through generations.
