In Italy this is called an Americano Branco and it is under this name that it features in Elvezio Grassi's 1936 book Mille Misture. Although an Italian aperitivo, it is perhaps more popular in Argentina, particularly the cantinas and cafés of Buenos Aires where it is called a Ferroviario or sometimes a "Fernet con Cinzano".

20% Fernet Branca
30% Vermouth Rosso Torino
50% Fresh Seltzer
