Is it a little bizarre that this is rated a paltry 3.5, whereas the “Christmas Velvet Alexander” is a 5 star drink? From what I can see the latter is just a granny’s cocktail with half the advocaat?

The name is a huge part of a cocktail's appeal and Christmas Velvet Alexander is a far more appropriate name. Promotions are also quite different. That said, they are very similar cocktails, so I've added a link to Granny's cocktail above.
