Chocolate & Cranberry 'Martini'

Just in time for Thanksgiving, National Cranberry Relish Day has arrived, and boy are we thankful for it.

Cranberry sauce is of course a staple of Christmas dinner here in the UK, but it's even more of a hit with our friends across the pond. Cranberries were cultivated by Revolutionary war veteran Henry Hall in the 1820s, and he quickly shipped these jewel-like berries to neighbouring US states.

Cranberry relish gained popularity in 1950s America when a radio show named The Splendid Table invited Susan Stamberg onto the show, where she shared her mother-in-law's cranberry relish recipe. Known as 'Mama Stamberg's relish' it included a dollop of sour cream for a little bit of tang.

Cranberries are a superfood, packed with nutrients and antioxidants, so make sure you pile it high when tucking into your Thanksgiving or Christmas feast.

Yes, we have a Cranberry Sauce cocktail but we think you'll prefer our Chocolate & Cranberry cocktail or, for earlier in the day, perhaps a Cranberry Collins.

JFK, RIP

On 22 November 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, in Dallas, Texas.

The act sent shockwaves around the world - most people who were alive in the 1960s can still recall where they were when they heard the news. And, despite myriad attempts to lay conspiracy theories to rest, competing accounts of what took place can still spark passions more than six decades on. Today, we commemorate this sad event with an appropriately named classic, the President Cocktail.
