The Whisky Exchange
Product of: United Kingdom
This "most unusual gin" has been brilliantly marketed as a quintessentially British product, associated with cucumber sandwiches and rose gardens, whilst simultaneously being proudly Scottish in its origins.
Distilled in two different stills, a Bennett copper pot still and a Carter-Head still, with 11 classic botanicals: juniper berries, angelica root, coriander seeds, cubeb berries, orris root, chamomile flowers, caraway seeds, elderflowers, meadowsweet, lemon and orange peel. The distillates from the two stills are blended together before rose and cucumber essence is added to complete Hendrick's distinctive flavour profile.
Created in Scotland in 1999, Hendrick's was successfully launched in the US in 2000, followed by the UK a few years later in 2003.

Fresh and complex. Hints of pine and eucalyptus juniper, lime marmalade and spicy floral fragrances.
Slightly sweet and silky smooth, with a burst of juniper and citrus set against fresh green flavours. This is followed by cumin, cracked black pepper and salty liquorice back notes.
Long and lingering with floral hints, stewed cucumber and a quinine and juniper bitterness.
Clean, well-balanced, herbal and floral. Juniper rightly leads this gin which is classically 'London dry' in style but with subtle notes of cucumber and rose. The cucumber notes are perhaps more cucumber skin than succulent flesh.
