Delicious. Use Wray & Nephew overproof. I didn't have strawberry syrup so I used some strawberry-infused vodka I had on hand. As I tend to like my cocktails a bit drier than some recipes here, it worked. The absinthe is a nice touch.

Very unique taste! It seems bitter then a tad sweet. Very interesting play of the senses with this cocktail!

Interesting, intense drink. Reminds me a little of a Jungle Bird. The automated brand suggestion here was Hamilton 151 for some reason, so I went with it. I'm seeing 15 ml for the Campari measure on other websites, not to mention a wide variety of rum suggestions. I will be playing with this drink for awhile. I do agree, the absinthe ought to be in this.

Is it still good without absinthe?

Good but not nearly as good.

This was a wonderful drink. Strawberries are just coming into season in Southern California and had to make this. Went wonderfully with a cold lunch on a unusually warm February afternoon.

Liked it very much!
Used Smith & Cross Rum.

Added 1 Dash of Peychauds Bitters and 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters.
