Tried this: substituted rye for the Irish. 30ml each Sazerac 100°, fresh Key lime juice, Cocchi Americano. 15ml green Chartreuse, 25ml Boomsma Cloosterbitter. The Cloosterbitter added some wintergreen notes which complemented well the subtle spice from the rye and that characteristic Cocchi flavor. ☆☆☆☆☆♡

I think it's a good cocktail but, at least to me, lime dominates too much.

Delicious! The cocchi does indeed add excellent body to this, and the other ingredients blend harmoniously. I was particularly surprised how subtle the chartreuse element was in this.

Cocchi gives this version of the Last Word a huge flavor kick. Probably not a crowd pleaser but quite remarkable at first sip.

I love a Last Word, but I really liked the combination of whisky, Chartreuse, and lime flavors! I used a light blended Scotch instead of the Irish whiskey and dry vermouth instead of Cocchi. My version needed a bit more body (Cocchi would have taken care of that). A bit of Luxardo would have been a nice addition for me. I think it is time to get some Cocchi and try the proper recipe!

It's *far* better with the same measure of sudachi juice in lieu of lime juice

I've been using the name "Famous Last Words" for a last year or so for a drink consisting of equal parts; Islay Scotch, Yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and lemon juice. I suppose I need to think of a new name now.

Islay Scotch? One of the really smoky ones?

Ah, I hadn't noticed that Simon. Thank you.
