This is really great and deserves to be better known - contemporary classic indeed. I had to do a bit of subbing - no aperol so half/half punt e mes and byrrh and 5ml sugar syrup. As a fan of the sweet n sour this was great. Will def be back to try a closer spec version. William’s suggestion of a dash or spray of absinthe would def work here.

Second version with 15mL Lillet, 10 each Luxardo bitter Bianco and Cocchi Rosa, 5 Campari. This is a great base recipe and happily repaid my messing about with it.

Tried it long (part of my New Year resolution) and it really is a delightful, light, smooth cocktail.

Great with Campari and Cocchi Americano!

Interesting. Kind of a Corpse Reviver 2, with the orange candy-slice flavor of Aperol replacing the Maraschino. Next time, I might add a dash of absinthe.

Grabbed the Campari bottle by accident (#reddishliquid) which was nice. The right recipe with Aperol is far better though. Turns out to be a favourite of the wife AND the mother in law. What more can you expect?

Best new cocktail I've tried for ages. It's like a more complex and grapefruity Paper Plane and - while perhaps less drinkable - it makes for a genuinely interesting apperotif. Would be interested in the Lillet Blanc variants.
