A really delicious cocktail and deceptively strong as the cinnamon syrup and Falernum mask the rums. I used Appleton 8 as the main base to make it more Jamaican rather than Cuban, and I think the slight funk of the Appleton really complemented the Wray and Nephew.

As others have mentioned, the cinnamon syrup is quite present so I might dial it down to 7.5 ml next time to see if that tones it down a bit.

You'll want a relatively large Coupe Glass for this one. Or maybe go halves with your partner in crime and reach for a couple of Nick and Nora Glasses. Maybe not such a bad idea given the alcohol strength. Delicious, by the way, but maybe a wee bit less Cinnamon Syrup next time.

Very moreish, made mine with Appleton 8yr and Plantation/Planetray OFTD.
So smooth and easy to drink, recommend splitting the serve into two if your trying to pace the night out.

1.25 of the ST. George Absinthe overpowered the taste for me. I would maybe spray it instead. Overall good drink!

You're supposed to just rinse the glass with the absinthe, with just enough to roll it around and coat the surface, and then pour out any extra.

Being big rum drinkers, loved this. Didn't had the cinnamon sugar syrup, but substituted a little Goldschlager and sugar syrup. Still a bit sweet, but would make again, but may omit the syrup (keeping the Goldschlager). Really liked as you can taste the rum which is not the case in many tiki drinks. Was originally drawn to this cocktail based on its name. Definitely on my favourites.

I'm about 2.5 years too late but I can recommend having some cinnamon extract in your cupboard for these situations. Mix it with regular simple syrup in your jigger and you can have cinnamon syrup anytime you want without having to maintain two syrups.
