We didn't think that the apricot notes added much. So we substituted Martell VS Cognac for the liqueur. Drop it to 10ml if you want it backgrounded. As Cognac lovers, we went with 15ml. Any which way, it's lighthearted but with a serious edge.

Delightful rift on the Margarita. Perfect the way it is written. A little sweet with a tang of sour at the end. Would certainly have again.

Grettings. My prior comment was not intended to be Anonimous and the deleted one prior to that was not fully informed. And by the way, the Orgeat and Lavender complemented the Anejo quite nicely.

Many thanks Calvin and to all others that have commented on this cocktail. I've amended the recipe with your comments in mind and I'd appreciate your feedback.

Agreed with Mr. Shah. My solution was 7ml rich syrup and when this wasn't quite there I added the pinch of salt (it helped). Then I thought Agave syrup would have been preferrable and added 5ml... of Orgeat syrup by mistake. A few drops Lavender Bitters balanced all that well. Will try reducing the lime as per Mark's suggestion as I liked the original dryness in this cocktail. Salute.

I found this to be way too sharp. 10ml of syrup made it a lot more palatable.

Even better, rather than adding 10ml of syrup, reduce the 30ml of lime juice to 15ml and there is a much better overall balance.
