Our very own Margarita Bitters made by our mate Bob. This elixir is made with lavender and other (top secret) aromatic botanicals. Use 4 drops to lift...
As in some countries in Europe it is easier to get a ton of coke imported directly from a Colombian cartel than to buy Bob's bitter, it was a surprise during a business trip to Greece to find Margarita bitter in a shop where I was looking for local spirits.
It was worth the wait. If it doesn't revolutionize the cocktail (maybe that's not the point either), with a side by side test without and with it it usually gives it depth and accentuated the finish on the top of the palate.
These are great. I have lavender bitters, but they pale to the Margarita Bitters. Totally different. They pull out the flavours of the ingredients and enhance the taste. Well worth the expense and addition to your bar.
With a few exceptions (e.g. Luxardo apricot) homemade bitters and liqueurs are two levels above what can be found in the shops. However, not only is the preparation time rather long if you want quality, but they need to be aged for 4-6 years before they are at their best in home-made conditions. This is logistically rather complex to keep in mind in today's world.
In France, you should be able to purchase from La Maison Du Whisky (https://www.whisky.fr/). Just checked and not presently in stock but they should be able to hold of for you.

Not sure I can identify all these botanicals, but my wife and I agree we’ve just had the best Margarita we’ve ever tasted!
