Amazin'. I used Tio Pepe Fino en Rama and Mezcal Ojo de Tigre. Is very palatable even when it feels like no booze -but my hand remembers: is strong-. Lovely taste. Good for my Jerez Sunday.

Gracias i have learned something. So looking forwart to trying a Fino en Rama! Apparently my local Total carries Mezcal Ojo de Tigre. Espadin and Tobala. They are out of it. Will be looking for that as well.

What a night and day difference to the Call London. This one is delightfully balanced and the Mezcal is fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised if a Mezcal better than a cheaper, super smoky one is necessitated to have the great impact promised here. Fruity with the savouriness of the sherry still hanging around.

Another fine drink for grown-ups. Not so sweet. Delicate and refined. I used Palo Cortado and Del Maguey. Why is it that so many of the best cocktails (that aren’t daquiris, sours or Italian-bitter) deploy sherry or saki. Answers on a postcard, please.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I feel like this drink would be better made with clarified (or otherwise de-pulped) lime juice and done as a stirred drink for textural reasons, although I don't actually have the patience to test that. It's excellent either way, though.

The mineral and yeasty notes from the sherry plays beautifully with the mezcal. A really freaking good cocktail!

OK I thought the recent realisation that, Oh shit I love sherry now, was crazy enough... the mezcal combo here has blown my tiny little mind. Just gorgeous.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this drink. Perfect balance of sweet and sour notes. A subtle smoke from the mezcal, whose more savory facet works in tandem with the sherry. Highly enjoyable.

Agreed, Lee. I don't know what the cocktail is in photo but looks nothing like a Call Mexico - should be pale golden rather than deep bronze. I'll make for Dan to reshoot ASAP. (Happy I made to check the colour as a very tasty cocktail!)
