Medium-bitter amaro made by infusing herbs such as condurango, cardamom, cinnamon, bitter orange peels and cinchona in neutral alcohol and then sweetening...
Weirdly one of those products that is readily available in Australia when so many others aren’t. Even just with Soda this stuff is brilliant. Close to Averna, but with extra herbal-roots goodness.
Sadly, this is one of the excellent products from Luxardo that its UK importer doesn't import. Luxardo's Apricot liqueur is also one of my favourites, but it is also not available here. Hopefully one day.
This is an absolute must for lovers of amari. I have substituted it in for other amari in recipes like Cynar, Montenegro, etc and never had a fail yet. Cardamony goodness- even just a simple sour with 60ml Abano, 30ml lemon, 10ml 2:1 syrup shaken with ice and into a chilled coupe straight up with a lemon twist - refreshing with a lingering aftertaste.
