It's very good. At first it tastes sweet, but after a while you can taste the bourbon and the brandy (I don't have cognac).

A new favorite nightcap.

Excellent, this one really surprised me. The Cognac and Grenadine create an almost cherry like sweet/tart combo that is perfect when paired against the Bourbon. Don't skimp the Peychaud's - it is essential to that underlying sweetness. This is an underrated classic, IMO.

Even with cheap bourbon and cognac this is great, it lifts everything up.

A nice combination that starts with the oakiness from the Bourbon and finishes with the fruitiness of the Cognac. Used a very chilled Gibraltar rocks glass.

A little too slurpable...gone in ten minutes!

I tend to drink my drinks a little too fast. I'm a firm believer in "a warm cocktail is a sad cocktail"! Especially in this case served without ice, this as others state needs a well chilled glass.

It is imperative to chill your tumbler (w/thick base ).. delicate sipper, but the booze is there ;)

Great sipping cocktail for the evening. I think I would cut back on the grenadine as I find it a bit too sweet for my taste. I would make this again.

Agreed. I've cut grenadine to 5ml.
