I agree with Fernando, definitely an orangey drink. Used Jameson Black Barrel, Cointreau, noilly prat red vermouth. Initially I forgot the orange bitters and that really made a difference. I have Gary Regan’s book The Joy of Mixology where he says they invented the Dubliner for St Patrick day 1999. Definitely recommend.

Many thanks, Dave. I've added a quote from The Joy of Mixology.

Nice flavor, nice balance. But the flavor of the whisky was lost in the Grand Marnier IMHO. Next time, I think I'll try this with bourbon.

This was great. I split the vermouth with Punt E Mes and went well (so I think)

Good balance. We used Martini & Rossi Fiero for the sweet vermouth. It gave the drink a little for fruit quality taste.
