Well done, you. It certainly looks as though the 'pain' was worthwhile. I have been running an online cocktail evening every week with a bunch of friends since the start of the first lockdown and my 'go-to' to inspire me is your website. Thank you, Simon, for your hard work and inspiration. Hic!
This lowly amateur is grateful for all the good that came from this unique and winding history. Your "encyclopedias" have made high quality libations accessible and interesting across a very long time. Out of over 600 cocktail books (to my wife's chagrin!), none are turned to by guests more than the visual, descriptive, and yet very concise DGs. Still have my old Sauce guides, too. On to glory, Simon! All the best.
It was 25 years ago today, Simon taught the world to mix cocktails, going in and out of style, guaranteed to raise a smile.... (sorry for the like of rhyming).
We had a cocktail workshop in Switzerland recently and I was telling the guy, who we know from a bar where he works , that Diffords Guide was my cocktail bible and he said °yeah I have one of the books".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Whilst sat in a Canarian bar drinking cocktails recommended by the bartender, we asked him where he had acquired the knowledge to be able create drinks tailored to our taste…Difford’s Guide was his reply. First thing we did when returning home was to order a copy and multiple editions since. We have now built up a wide selection of liquors and made some amazing cocktails over the past 18 years. For that we thank you Simon Difford and congratulations on your 25 anniversary.
