Oh. My. Goodness.
Mine was Benchmark No. 8 bourbon (Buffalo Trace leftovers), Amaro Nonino, & Cappelletti aperitivo,
After a Bijou (à la Gordon), this was arresting. In a good way. Straight to the favorites list.
I like orange flavor, and so having only Nonino was not an impediment.
Not to throw shade but it's only alright. The worst part is I don't know why, it feels like this list of ingredients I should love but something just isn't clicking for me.
I hesitate to again be a Meletti fan boy here (it just skews)... But I just made this twice with Wild Turkey 101, Cocchi di Torino, and Campari... The second try with Meletti (first one Vecchio Amaro del Capo, twas fine) was a clear winner. Almost vastly different drinks...
I find the description of "a riff on a Boulevardier" interesting. Based on the proportions, this to me reads more like halfway between a regular and black Manhattan, with a small splash of Aperol.
