Remembering both vermouth and gin are flavoured with similar botanicals, they obviously have an affinity for each other. This drink may be simple but made...
Tried it with a local gin (Dillon's Unfiltered Gin 22), which is more on the floral end. Ended up with a light and delicately complex drink. The bitters and lemon twist add crucial dimension.
This was excellent for an evening sipper or nightcap. Key is using quality ingredients as there are only three. Love the play between the gin and vermouth and the multitudes of various flavours as you are sipping. Will definitely have again.
A very good alternative to the Negroni for someone who "doesn't like Campari". Indeed, might be worth linking from the Negroni page as it's such a popular bugbear with that cocktail.
Deceptively simple. I made this 2 - 1 with Bombay Sapphire and plain old M & R, Fee Bros was the orange bitters I had. Ice. Stir. Up. Will be making this one again!
