Forget the egg whites. Just fine in the classic style of 2 oz total of the two split whiskies and 3/4 each Orgeat and Lemon Juice.

Very nice drink. I'm going to try another version next time with the lemon juice bumped up to 3/4 oz.
I have to say this is a terrible drink. And I like all the components! Unbalanced. First time I have really disagreed with Mr. Difford.
High octane without finesse. Jet fuel. I now pass on this one.
I've got both Remy's Eau de vi, and also an Apricot Liqueur. So I'm contemplating doing a "field mix" as there is no "real" Apricot Eau de vi in the region. Any suggestions as to a blend? Barspoon Liqueur and the rest, the straight Eau de vi? Something like that?
History note: The classic film "The Philadelphia Story" from 1940 has Carey Grant delivering the line. A much better film and a more boozy storyline.
It's a big step up in flavor and depth, for not much more money, from the "standard" Jameson or Bushmills. This is now my standard Irish for cocktails. I save the "big 12-year" ones, such as Redbreast, for neat drinks.
Somehow didn’t ring my chimes. The lemon juice kind of overwhelmed the flavor of the champagne. I’d up the sugar a hair and cut back some more on the lemon. The cognac is fine as is.
Only way to go. Superb drink. I vary the simple syrup based on the dryness of the champagne.
Great. Another suggests a dash of orange bitters in place of the Disaronno. I will try that the next time.
Flat out this is the best deal for quality brandy for mixing etc. Word has gotten around and it is harder to find.
