I made two for a side by side comparison, one with Bulleit Bourbon and one with Tincup Rye. The rye won out for me. Both are very nice. My wife preferred the traditional (no whiskey). I preferred this but with rye.

My favorite rum cocktail.
I must confess, however, the flamed orange zest eludes me.
Simon can you make a video showing how this done?
Thanks
This drink looks and tastes unique. It’s a great party drink when you want to give guests something different. Quite tasty too.
Wonderful cocktail and such a beautiful color. My new favorite when wanting a martini.
Nice variation on a martini. The grenadine smooths out the cocktail. Gin forward - make sure you use a high quality gin.
I made with a gin aged in bourbon barrels. It really made for an interesting variation. The Smokey bourbon flavor to the gin complimented the bitters and grapefruit wonderfully. Loved it.
I’m not sure if I’m making a Maiden’s Prayer without the OJ or a White Lady with added bitters - whatever you call it I love it.
I use a sweet triple sec, forgo the syrup and add three drops of bitters. My go to when having company. Everyone loves it.
I have yet to try it with egg white.
Light and summery. My spouse very much enjoyed it. I found the Campari aftertaste conflicted with the cucumber. Not my fav.
