Banana Colada

Serve in a Hurricane glass

Ingredients:
2 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
12 oz Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur
4 oz Pineapple juice
1 fresh Banana (preferably overripe)
1 oz Cream of coconut (e.g. Coco Lopez, Re'al etc.)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Hurricane glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of banana chunk (cut garnish from centre of banana and place the rest in the blender to make the cocktail).
  3. BLEND all ingredients with 1.5 x 7oz scoops of crushed ice.
  4. POUR into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with banana chunk on rim.

Review:

Don't skimp, use a whole banana per drink for real flavour.

Tried one in Grenada at Esther's Bar on Grand Anse. True to the recipe (except a cherry garnish) and a nice balance of flavours, none too strong. Ideal for a warm day on the beach.
