Serve in a Coupe glass
1 1⁄2 oz | Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old) |
1⁄4 oz | Luxardo Maraschino liqueur |
3⁄4 oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄3 oz | Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup) |
1⁄4 oz | Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed) |
Garnish: Lime slice wheel on rim (dehydrated)
SHAKE all ingredients with ice (including a swath of grapefruit peel, which should be expressed and dropped in the tin for a "regal shake") and fine strain into chilled glass.
Tart, as a Hemingway Special Daiquiri (Papa Doble) should be, with rum-laced bright grapefruit and lime, kissed with flavoursome maraschino liqueur.
