Tart, as a Hemingway Special Daiquiri (Papa Doble) should be, with rum-laced bright grapefruit and lime, kissed with flavoursome maraschino liqueur.

I enjoy this recipe, but feel that the grapefruit juice needs to be more prominent. If you use 60 ml white rum, 7.5 ml Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, 22.5 ml grapefruit juice, 15 ml lime juice and 7.5 ml rich sugar syrup (2:1 syrup), you get an excellent Hemmingway daiquiri. Add a shake of Absinthe to make an interesting variation; The Sun Also Rises.

Like John below, I was brought here in my search for a grapefruit cocktail. This definitely has grapefruit character, but well balanced with rum, plenty of lime tartness, and a bit of maraschino funk on the end. Very good, and 2/2 for me so far with Anders Erickson drinks.

We were looking for a new cocktail with grapefruit. What a wonderful find. Very spirit forward which would have pleased Hemingway. Wonderfully dry with the tang of the grapefruit. Great version
