Serve in a Collins glass
1 oz | White overproof rum (unaged Jamaican/funky) |
1⁄3 oz | Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur |
1⁄6 oz | Difford's Falernum liqueur |
2⁄3 oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
4 drop | Bob's Abbotts bitters |
1 1⁄3 oz | Apple juice/apple cider (cloudy & unsweetened) |
Garnish: Apple slice wheel
SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice, and after shaking, add the apple juice, then strain into glass half-filled with crushed ice. TOP with more crushed ice.
To better fit a 12oz Collins glass, I've reduced the original spec of this cocktail by a third. However, you'll need properly cold crushed ice (ideally cubes crushed straight from a deep freezer) to ensure your Stun Wray doesn't misfire due to being waterlogged.
Adapted from a recipe created in 2021 by Jason E. Clapham at the St. Edward's MCR, Oxford, England, who originally used Tempus Fugit Crème de Banane. Jason says, "This cocktail is named after the Star Trek phaser that made its debut in the same 1966 episode as the immortal Captain Kirk."
