2 fl oz	Vanilla flavoured vodka
¹⁄₃ fl oz	Adriatico Amaretto Liqueur
¹⁄₁₂ fl oz	Bols Blue Curaçao
³⁄₄ fl oz	Pistachio cream liqueur

How to make

Glassware

Serve in a Martini glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a MARTINI GLASS.
Prepare garnish of scoop of pistachio gelato/ice cream.

Method

POUR first 3 ingredients into the larger of your shaker tins.
ADD ice and then pistachio cream liqueur (this helps prevent the creamy liqueur from splitting).
SHAKE and strain back into shaker.
DRY SHAKE (without ice) to emulsify.
FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

Garnish with a scoop of pistachio gelato/ice cream placed in centre of cocktail.

The origins of this dessert cocktail are undocumented, but it is popular in the North End neighbourhood of Boston, Massachusetts, where numerous bars and restaurants serve it, and several claim to have created it.

Review

Some versions of this nutty vanilla altern'atini include Irish cream liqueur, but even a small measure of this detracts from the headline pistachio notes.
