History:

Created in January 2025 by yours truly and named after the Silverstone motor racing circuit in England, home to the British Grand Prix, which was first held there in 1948. The circuit was built on the site of a former Royal Air Force bomber station, RAF Silverstone. Operational between 1943 and 1946, the airfield's three runways were laid out in the classic WWII triangle format and lie within the outline of the present track.
