History

Created in May 2025 and inspired by the heroic drinker featured in a vintage Cayetano del Pino & Cía advertisement. The advert featured the bodega's amontillado, but this cocktail is better with palo cortado.

Review

Fino notes in the palo cortado sherry add freshness to this delicately spiced and vanilla-influenced brandy old-fashioned.

Comments & Discussion

Chris Brislawn
No palo cortado so had to make do with amontillado, but I did have Lustau brandy aged in amontillado casks. Licor 43 works well with the other ingredients and the sweetness is just right as specified. A few drops of vanilla extract made up for my lack of vanilla bitters. Distinctive and well-balanced.
