Ingredients:
1 23 oz Cachaça
23 oz Aromatized wine (e.g. Lillet Blanc)
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
1 23 oz Lemonade
× 1 1 serving

Garnish: Half grapefruit slice

How to make:

SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass. TOP with lemonade.

Adapted from a drink created in 2013 by John Deragon at PDT, New York City, USA. John's original recipe calls for San Pellegrino Limonata in place of lemonade.

Didn't have any lemonade on hand so added +1cl syrup and 1.5cl lemon juice w/ soda water instead. I haven't tried the original to compare, but it came out quite nice & of course has the added benefit of more fresh ingredients and more control over sweetness/acidity.

A fine way to end a hot afternoon. Not as fiddley as muddling a Caipirinha and the Lillet adds a nice complexity. I’d probably skip the sugar syrup next time, though.
