Review:

Grainy vodka-laced strawberry fruitiness with dry vermouth adding balance and depth of flavour. Although almost imperceptible, it's the addition of black pepper spice that sets this fruity martini apart.

I tried using bianco vermouth in place of dry, and less sugar syrup, but this produced an inferior cocktail.

If using a sweetened strawberry purée, then reduce the sugar syrup. And if using fresh strawberries rather than strawberry purée, then muddle 5 small strawberries in the shaker before adding the other ingredients.
