Serve in an Old-fashioned glass
1 oz | Hayman's London Dry Gin |
3⁄4 oz | Green Chartreuse (or alternative herbal liqueur) |
1⁄4 oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
1 oz | Medium dry apple cider |
Garnish: Lemon zest twist & mist with Islay scotch
SHAKE first 3 ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass (preferably over a chunk of block ice). TOP with cider and lightly stir.
A cider top eases drinkers into this spirit forward, Chartreuse-heavy riff on the classic Last Word.
Adapted from a recipe created in 2017 by Katherine Boushel at Atwater Cocktail Club in Montréal, Canada. The name (meaning First Word) and indeed the ingredients of this riff on the classic Last Word, reflect Montréal's French and English influences.
