Used rye and kings ginger. Perfect

Retried the drink with Stone's Special Reserve and J&B Rare. Still strange, but good, much better than the previous one. I feel like I can taste nuances of both the J&B (cereal and caramel) and the Stone's Reserve (intense ginger and raisin). This is a drink which heavily relies on your Scotch and ginger wine. Still a fair bit of burn, which does detract from the overall experience.

Honestly, not a fan. Just tasted like alcohol with a burn and nothing else. But it could be because of mediocre Scotch (William Lawson's) and the basic Stone's.
