2 slice Fresh ginger root (thumbnail-sized slice)
1 1⁄2 fl oz Caribbean blended rum aged 6-10 years
1⁄2 fl oz Monin Ginger Syrup
1⁄4 fl oz Monin Almond (Orgeat) Syrup
1 fl oz Pineapple juice
1⁄4 fl oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1⁄2 fl oz Giffard Vanille de Madagascar

How to make

Glassware

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of pineapple wedge and Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

Method

  1. MUDDLE ginger in base of shaker.
  2. Add other ingredients.
  3. SHAKE with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. Garnish with pineapple wedge skewered with maraschino cherry.

I use gin instead of rum. It balances the pineapple and ginger way better than the rum, at least for my taste.
