⁵⁄₆ fl oz	Italian red bitter liqueur
¹⁄₂ fl oz	Amaro (e.g. Ramazzotti)
¹⁄₆ fl oz	Demerara/Muscovado/brown sugar syrup (2 sugar to 1 water)
2 dash	Chocolate bitters

How to make

Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

THROW all ingredients with ice.
STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Good after dinner cocktail. I used Kraken, which probably lacks the required cacao/coffee profile, so I put 2 extra dashes of chocolate bitters. In any case, Campari takes the lead, followed by the bitters, and then the Amaro.

I’m not brave enough to throw with gusto but this was a really pleasant drink. The rum and Campari complement each other well
