Serve in a Collins glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Calvados / apple brandy / straight applejack
1 12 oz Elderflower liqueur
1 12 oz Medium dry apple cider
1 12 oz Apple juice/apple cider (cloudy & unsweetened)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Collins glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of apple wedge.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. Garnish with apple wedge on rim.

History:

Created in 2006 by yours truly. We used the last straw we had left to sample the first one. Fortunately, there are alternatives to plastic straws.

Pretty good balance up using Laird's BIB. Not sure if it would hold up in a Collins over ice unless some extra apple brandy and/or lemon juice acidity was employed.

Very refreshing. The different flavours of apple make it most interesting. For my taste, I may back off the Elderflower a little, or substitute some in-bond applejack for some of the calvados. Great cocktail.
