Just what my budget bottle of bottled in bond bourbon (J.T.S.Brown) needed. Excellent.

This is a nice one. Bold, boozy, and full of flavours. I used Wild Turkey 101, and I sprayed the glass with pernod instead of absinthe (it's expensive where I am). The 101 stands up well to the maraschino and the bitters and pernod flavours dance on tongue. Perfect for the winter holiday season.

Used a 50/50 mix of Bourbon and 100 Proof Rye. Substituted Peychaud's bitters and lessened the sugar syrup. For my taste, I would drop the sugar syrup entirely as the Bourbon has a sweetness. More of a New Orleans version.

Hmmm. Although I really liked this and would add it as a fave. I wouldn’t describe it as surprisingly dry. I would actually describe it as sweet.

More an old fashioned riff than a Manhattan imo. Pleasant and flavoursome. Agree with other commenters that the additional Cherry garnish works well here. Very well balanced.

This is a lovely variant on an Old Fashioned, and a great way to enjoy a bourbon. Made according to the recipe but may well add a cherry next time.

Tried this for first time tonight. I love the flavour profile, but I think next time I will cut the simple syrup down to 5ml. And as others, added the cherry!

Not sure I agree that it's "surprisingly dry", but if you're a fan of an improved whisky cocktail, you can't really go wrong
