I really love these super simple (three ingredients, all jigger) cocktails, and especially when they are this delicious. It's a bit on the sweeter end but that's okay. The ingredients are all very complex so the drink still has a lot of interesting things to discover over time.

A very nice variation on a classic Manhattan/red hook. … might be time to revisit those as well!

As a lover of Black Manhattans and the Dolin/Punt e Mes mix that Death and Co uses for their classic Manhattans, I am blown away by this drink. This is one of the most balanced stirred cocktails I have had. I am going to have fun riffing on this one.

Anyone who made such a personal note before the introduction of Premium (on 27.Aug.24) will still be able to read their existing notes but will not be able to make new notes. Members who have not joined Premium can still leave public comments, and such comments can be useful for other members of the community, so we are keen to encourage their use. Private notes can only be seen by, and so are only of use to individual members; hence, private notes are one of the many benefits we reserve for Premium members. Premium membership costs less than £1 a week ($1.04/ €0.98) – cheap compared to a cocktail!

probably my favourite Manhattan riff. haven't got Averna at home, but honestly works really well with Mr. Black's coffee amaro

just the right amount of spice and sweet. not much bitter but enough that you get it in the back of your throat. a definite make again.
