I've made this based on the published spec and with a London dry gin. The lime cordial is a Jeffrey Morganthaler recipe that I make. This is nice for a sweet nightcap, but I thought it just a bit sweet and in my variation using the dry gin I also dropped the Cointreau to 10ml and it was nicer. Somewhere between a Kamikazee and a Gimlet. Not a fav but a template I'll play with again.
I'd say this is more of a cross between a Martini and a Gimlet, but so delicious either way. If I had to introduce someone to Martinis, I'd start them off easy with this one.
Decided to try this as it looked interesting. It is simple, elegant, and very flavourful. The hint of citrus enhances the taste of the gin. Was perfect for before dinner. Will definitely have again.
Elegant simplicity, good to the last drop, orange and lime harmonize perfectly here plus a great mouth-feel and plenty boozy. I used Beefeater, Pierre Ferrand, Dolin Dry and Rose's Lime and I'll definitely be making this again.
