It's honestly really great. The mezcal is perfectly accentuated by the cinnamon and peach where the Suze adds just a little more body without making the cocktail bitter. A thing I like about the blue curacao is that it's not too orangey. It's there in the background supporting the other components.
Don't be scared off by any preconceptions you might have about "blue cocktails" - this one is seriously good.
It's a little too easy to consign blue drinks to the category 'party time'. This would certainly go down a treat at your next soiree but there is nothing frivolous about it. We can imagine sipping on it late night while listening to Billie Holiday singing plaintively of her blues. We didn't have the peach liqueur so used an apricot liqueur (Merlet) instead.
Nice! More serious in flavour than its gimmicky colour suggests.
Added a little Suze, gentian liqueur, which added not only a pleasant bitter dimension, but also changed the colour towards the turquoise/aqua spectrum, as Suze is yellow.
