It looks like a good cocktail. For info I had all ingredients except Red Jalapeno. I replaced it with bird's eye chile which is 50,000-100,000 SHU. It's drinkable but the chili is overpowering the drinks and I only put 1 tiny little slice. In case you feel like trying you know what you'll get ;)
Interesting drink. I used to have my manhattan with 2oz bourbon (or rye for more character) 1oz sweet vermouth 2-3 dashes angustura 1-2 dashes fee brothers chocolate. This one is of course dryer but interesting in summer if you are looking for a "fresher" Manhattan
It looks interesting but there is too much lime for me. I did it with fresh coriander and habanero salsa.
Replaced one generous dash of the Angostura with cherry bitters, and floated a Luxardo cherry on a half moon of ice. I realize I lost some of the orange accent but with the bourbon I used, the cherry notes really rounded out the orange tone and made the bourbon a bit more nutty. Loved it.
Hey Suzanne. Which bourbon are you using ?
Really good !!! Love it.
For me 30ml of Campari is much too bitter. The perfect combinaison is 50ml of Bourbon 30ml sweet vermouth 15ml campari. And for those Who use Martini please stop. I recently changed my cheap martini for a martini reserva rubino and its definitely not the same drink. Don't hesitate and buy a good vermouth for your boulevardier negroni Manhattan and co
I added 1 dash of fee brothers aztec chocolate bitters. Perfect !!!
This is a much too bitter recipe for me. Campari is really too bitter and i only taste it with that 3/3/3 measurement. I found a better one that i will share that is much more balanced according to me. Gin 4.5cl Vermouth 3cl Campari 1.5cl . I would also recommend to crac the ice before you stir it. This is quite a strong drink so the fact to crac the ice will add more dilution to the cocktail. Cheers
I did it without the lavender syrup and its good. I was a bit sceptical to mix all of that together but you really feel each of the ingredient the fragrant and peppery gin, the smokiness of mezcal and even the bitterness of tonic (I used Fever tree). Really interesting.
Also try this one with chocolate or molé bitters instead of Angostura! Amazing drink.
Really nice with chocolate bitter. I recommend as well
The cocktail is very good but I would change proportion a little bit. I put 1 bar spoon of agave syrup (approx 5ml) and it is a bit too sweet but if you want to taste spirit i would put slightly less.
I really recommend some chocolate bitters as the person did in other comment I did it with fee brothers one and its really good. By knowing most of tequila are low on alcohol if the sweetness is too important you will not really appreciate the tequila. Jose Cuervo reposado and Ilegal Mezcal
