Had a 5:1 martini, and then this. It's quite the opposite, rather boldly flavourful than subtle. Most refreshing use of benedictine i've ever had the pleasure of trying. I think i have found a new favourite martini

Made this just now with powdered canesugar and Clément VSOP rum de Martinique. The complexity of the rum seems to be amplified by the use of canesugar, definitely would recommend
Using good ice in the glass can't be emphasized enough here, the taste just keeps evolving with every slow sip. Amazing drink
Also known in french speaking parts of the world as a "demarreur", loosely translated as a kickstarter
I know planteur as a different drink, as served in Martinique. There they combine 2 parts pineapple juice and 2 parts mango or guava juice , 1 part white rum agricole and 1 part gold rum agricole, infuse with a cinnamon stick and a stick of fresh vanille overnight in the fridge and serve over ice. To be fair, a way better drink than this recipe. Had it before with clément rhum agricole and it was devine
Made this with cracked ice and a few mint leaves and did a small churn of the mint, ice and rum initially before adding the rest of the ingredients and shaking. I just love the combo of pineapple and mint and this did not dissappoint! Absolutely amazing drink
Probably my favourity booze-forward drink. Although, just now i wanted to make it but didn't have any good cognac on hand, but i did have some aged dark jamaican rhum, so i substituted the cognac with the rhum, and i dare say it rivals the original , with all due respect ofc
