Used 2oz Ron Izalco 130 proof (Maisano's store pick), subbed agave nectar as the sweetener. Everything else as written above; beautiful.
Is the 1/12 (one twelfth) of a fluid ounce measure of grenadine correct? (I did check that the metric is a scant 2.5mL as well). Does that basically mean a barspoon? I don't think I've commonly seen such a small measurement for grenadine. Is this a typo for 1/2 (one half) fluid ounce?
For comparison, most other recipes (including Punch Drink, Jim Meehan in the New York Times, and the Raffles Hotel variant included on this site) specify 1/4 fluid ounce of grenadine.
Get the Easy Jigger from Simon. Solution, period.
Used Bacardi Gold 8 year, Gosling's Black and substituted a cinnamon syrup for the sweetener. Solid cocktail that I truly enjoyed.
I used Hendrick's only because the bottle was getting low; The chocolate citrus combo with gin is not something I would have thought of on my own, ever. This is a fantastic drink.
Made with Sazerac Rye and PM Spirits' L'Encantada Armagnac; Tattoo Series #2. Also used Tempus Fugit's Crème de Banane. Six pumps of an Absinthe atomizer, as well. Brilliant. Really solid, boozy cocktail.
Aged rum (6-10yr), Overproof aged light rum, Amaro (e.g. Nonino), Lime juice, Orgeat syrup
Vodka, White crème de cacao, Sugar syrup 1:1, Espresso coffee (hot), (+ 2 more)
The named whiskey I did not have so I used Yellowstone's 93 proof straight bourbon and added 3 dashes of El Guapo's Fuego bitters. Used 1oz each of Bourbon, Montenegro, and Aperol; 1/2oz on the lemon. Fantastic. I would have never thought to pair these ingredients. Kudos to Simon.
Blanco tequila, Orange-red aperitivo, Lime juice, Agave syrup, Hot chili pepper bitters
