I find Aperol to be too sweet. If you replace it with Nonino it really improves the drink.
I had this drink last night using the recipe listed and while I enjoyed it, I echoed the sentiment regarding the sweetness of the drink. I saw this note this afternoon and thought, "Why, I have Nonino, let's give it a shot!" Great note, it does improve the drink; and that's coming from a lover of Aperol. Thanks for the tip, Jason.
Tequila and Orgeat go great together!
Agreed. I never would have guessed, but this will be in my regular rotation from now on. I'm a big fan of Aperol with tequila and was unsure of the orgeat, but my apprehension was completely unfounded.
It is tasty, and try it if you want to drink apple juice and get a buzz at the same time, but I feel like equal parts apple juice and calvados makes for a monotone drink. I will say, I was pleasantly surprised it didn't come out sweeter.
Found it a little sweet. Think I would cut the simple in half in favor of a little more bourbon.
Lacking some sweetness, perhaps my blood oranges are too early in season.
Great use of Limoncello. The tartness of the limoncello is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the Campari.
A great, low ABV sipper. Deliciously bitter, cut by a refreshing splash of soda.
