What fun! I'm not sure a 9-ingredient cocktail will be showing up for guests too, too often, but definitely interesting from start to finish. I will confess to cheating and using Knob Creek's smoked maple bourbon.

Came out pretty good, very well balanced flavors! I agree with the other commenters that as is, it was just a tad sweet. I also used an extra dash of Fee Brother's, as in my experience 1 dash doesn't provide sufficient foam in the end drink.

Wonderfully balanced. The mixture of the two whiskeys work perfectly together. Did find it a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but would make it again with a bit more whiskey to offset.

Found it a little sweet. Think I would cut the simple in half in favor of a little more bourbon.

Agreed! I've switched the sugar syrup for maple syrup and added some rye for strength and muscular tone.

So aptly named. A luxuriously rich dinner or evening sipper. Lemon forward when it’s cold but opens up marvellously as it warms. We always do this with the egg white (dry shake) and then top the froth with walnut bitters. Tremendous.

Many thanks for the nod to walnut biters - I've added to the recipe above.
