Did this with 1.5 oz Tanqueray, 1.5 oz Giffard Abricot, 0.75 oz lime juice, and a 5 oz of Fever Tree Club Soda. Quite well-balanced IMO: Gin and lime flavors up front, and the apricot comes in on the finish.

This came out really well! I used Disaronno instead of Luxardo, and added some ground allspice as a garnish.
This comes out pretty well as a cocktail too, especially with a few dashes of cocoa or xocolatl bitters.
I found a 2:1:1:3 ratio of bourbon, triple sec, lemon juice, and Vernor's ginger ale (omitting syrup entirely) was sufficiently sweet without being overpoweringly so.
Came out pretty good, very well balanced flavors! I agree with the other commenters that as is, it was just a tad sweet. I also used an extra dash of Fee Brother's, as in my experience 1 dash doesn't provide sufficient foam in the end drink.
Variant: Sub a flavored syrup in for the simple syrup--I used 1.5 oz Rose's strawberry syrup; change the amount based on personal taste.
This turned out really well. I used Ardbeg 10 (and I know that's sent at least 1 single-malt lover into a frenzy), but I wanted to try this out with a more strongly-flavored scotch. I also used Vernor's ginger ale, which is all I had, with the result that the drink is quite sweet and less ginger-y than it would be otherwise.
