1 fl oz Cognac (brandy)
1 fl oz Brown/dark crème de cacao liqueur
1 fl oz Whipping cream
1/6 fl oz Kirschwasser (cherry) eau-de-vie

How to make

Glassware

Serve in a Coupe glass

Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of grated nutmeg and skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

Method

  1. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. Dust with freshly grated nutmeg and garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry.

Adapted from a recipe in Ted Saucier's 1951 book, Bottoms Up!.

Brownie
1 oz. Coronet brandy
1 oz. crème de cacao
1 oz. heavy cream
1 dash kirschwaser
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Decorate with maraschino cherry.

The same recipe made using white crème de cacao makes a tasty cocktail, but not one that befits the name.

Sub the Kirsch with Poire Williams eau de vie, works very well with this one.

This is fabulous with some Amarena Fabbri syrup mixed in. I used Italian brandy and panna fresca as half and half isn't available.
