Serve in a Nick & Nora glass
5⁄6 oz | Hayman's London Dry Gin |
1⁄3 oz | White crème de cacao liqueur |
1⁄2 oz | Aromatized wine (e.g. Lillet Blanc) |
1⁄4 oz | Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur |
1⁄6 oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄12 oz | Galliano Espresso Coffee liqueur |
Garnish: Float single coffee bean
SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. Carefully POUR coffee liqueur into centre of the cocktail (it should sink to create a dark layer at the bottom of the cocktail).
The Vervet is a species of monkey with a white body and a black head and is the inspiration for this layered, faintly coffee and banana-influenced riff on a 20th Century cocktail. Fittingly, this cocktail finishes with enlivening coffee. Originally based on Monkey 47 Gin.
