Serve in a Coupe glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

STIR all ingredients with ice.
FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

In William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Bar Book, the creation of this drink is credited to one A. Mackintosh. Originally made with a brand of port called Clubland, hence this drink's name.

Vodka fans should definitely try this - it is a like a sweet "perfect Kangaroo/Vodkatini". I'm not a vodka fan, and I find the vodka notes unpleasant, so this won't be one I'll make again - but I'm sure there are cocktail fans that will love it's clean look and sweetness.
