If the Espresso Martini could be taken in a Tiki direction then this cream-topped, almond-influenced riff is it.

Tried it the original way first, and I'm not sure if it's just my orgeat but I didn't really like the flavor/sweetness of the drink.

Made another with some different specs: 45ml whiskey, 22.5 ml espresso, 15 ml coffee liquor, 15ml demerara simple, 7.5 ml maple syrup. Enjoyed that one much more.

I think in all equal parts, this drink may as well be a variation on a white Russian, for all intents and purposes. Probably work better like Evan said, with half the orgeat and coffee liqueur. Maybe even all equal parts but double rye, as the rye was effectively annihilated in this.

Not bad, but unremarkable as listed.

This is a bit too sweet. I would halve the orgeat and/or the Mr. Black’s next time. I used Liber & Co. orgeat.

It is a great pick-me-up coffee cocktail in the afternoon. For ones have no problem of falling sleep, this can be a dessert drink after dinner. It may be a bit sweeter for some, a pinch of salt is magical. I used cacao powder for this run.
