Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Ketel One Citroen Vodka
34 oz Bols Blue Curaçao
12 oz Cointreau triple sec liqueur
12 oz Strucchi Dry Vermouth
2 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Adapted from Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book. His recipe called for ¼ triple sec liqueur, ¾ vodka and 1 dash blue food colouring. The Blue Monday also appears in Patrick Gavin Duffy’s 1934 The Official Mixer’s Manual.

Very tasty. I might decrease vermouth 5 ml….and used Absolute Citron

Saw this and I had to try. Was worried that it might be a bit too sweet, but it had a great name and colour. It is not sweet at all, but a good afternoon or aperitif.
